Fashion Carmen (CARMEN-4)

Milton’s eye and imagination went everywhere, always scouting our locations. Locating an advertisement on the side of a brick building for a luggage ad, fourteen-year-old Carmen was hired for the assignment. When Milton and the assistants arrived at the location, painters had set up scaffolding to paint out the ad. Seizing the moment, Milton took the painters aside, paid them money to go to lunch and instructed Carmen to climb the ladder and they got the shot. The agency was delighted and it was another fabulous assignment. In 1948, Milton poses Carmen on scaffolding next to an advertisement painted on the side of an old building just before painters were to paint over it.
